Gemini Scans Secures NABL Accreditation Across Imaging and Pathology Services; Becomes Only Centre in Chennai with Active NABL-Accredited PET-CT / MRI/CT Facility
Accreditation covers other imaging modalities like Ultrasound, Doppler, ECHO, X-ray and Digital Mammography across its Aminjikarai, Vadapalani, Adyar, Mogappair and Ambattur centres
Chennai, September 15, 2026: Gemini Scans, a diagnostic imaging center based in Chennai, which has been operating since 19+ years now have secured NABL accreditation for their imaging and pathology services. The accreditation covers a comprehensive range of modalities including MRI, CT, PET-CT, Ultrasound, Doppler, ECHO, X-Ray, Digital Mammography, blood tests etc. With PET-CT being among the high-end investigations covered under the accreditation, Gemini Scans is currently the only centre in Chennai with an active NABL-accredited PET-CT facility, according to the organisation.
The accreditation has been received by Gemini Scan’s Aminjikarai, Vadapalani, Adyar, Mogappair and Ambattur centres.
The development comes at a time when NABL accreditation is becoming increasingly relevant in the healthcare referral ecosystem. Public and private sector hospitals that have themselves secured NABL accreditation are increasingly preferring NABL-accredited centres for referrals for high-end investigations such as PET-CT and MRI. For patients, the accreditation provides an additional layer of independent validation around the quality processes followed in imaging services.

National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), assesses laboratories and diagnostic facilities against established quality and technical requirements. Choosing a NABL-accredited centre can therefore give patients and referring doctors an added level of confidence that the equipment is regularly monitored, processes are documented and reports are subject to quality checks, supporting greater consistency and reliability in diagnostic results.
The accreditation also covers AI-enabled capabilities provided through imaging equipment manufacturers, including Calcium scoring, Automated vessel tracking and Radiation dose reduction, further strengthening the quality framework around advanced imaging services.
