Chennai, 14th October, 2024— In a disappointing turn of events, subscribers in Tamil Nadu have been left without access to their favorite Star channels, including Star Vijay and Star Sports 1 Tamil, due to misleading claims and unjustified, unilateral actions by major operators TCCL, VK Digital, and SCV.
These operators have falsely claimed that prices for Star Vijay and other Star channels have increased, leading them to remove these channels en-masse from their base packs without any prior notice to customers or any requests from the subscribers/customers. This abrupt action has deprived countless viewers/subscribers of the entertainment they cherish, including the highly anticipated Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8, hosted by the charismatic Vijay Sethupathi, and the exciting ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

By misstating facts that Star channel prices have been increased, some MSOs have sought to unilaterally disrupt subscribers access to popular shows like Baakiyalakshmi, Siragadikka Aasai, Aha Kalyanam etc. but also leave them frustrated and confused. This abrupt change has left consumers disappointed and robbed of their entertainment needs. Viewers affected by this situation should contact their operators immediately to seek immediate reversion to the viewing experience as before 1st October, 2024. If they still don’t regain access to their favorite channels, they may consider switching to an alternative operator that values them and their entertainment choices.
