Workers at Samsung's Chennai plant are hopeful of a bright future, days after they signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the management of Samsung Chennai. Sathish A., representative of the newly formed Samsung Electronics Workers Federation and one of the signatories to the Memorandum of Agreement, thanked everyone for the support.
"On behalf of Samsung Electronics Worker Federation, I take this opportunity to thank the management for the recognition. It is a challenging situation that I am confident of handling effectively. We will do collective bargaining on wages and other welfare measures. We thank all friends who supported us and we hope our striking friends will return back to work and join us soon. We will have good future ahead," he said.
The Memorandum of Agreement, signed between Samsung Chennai and its representative of Workers on October 7, 2024, aims to mitigate the difficulties faced by workers and enhance the Company's competitiveness by resolving the ongoing illegal strike which commenced on September 9th, 2024.
As per the Memorandum of Agreement, Samsung Chennai will improve the working environment for the welfare of its workers, and continuously consult with the workers committee.
