தொடக்க காலத்தில் ஆவடியைச் சுற்றியுள்ள கிராமங்களில் கிறிஸ்தவம் விதைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தாலும், அது ஆழமாக வேரூன்றாமல் காலப்போக்கில் கிறிஸ்தவ படைவீரர்களின் ஆன்மீக தேவையை நிறைவு செய்யக்கூடிய ஒன்றாகவே திகழ்ந்தது. 

1943-ம் ஆண்டு அருள்தந்தை. ஜாண் வென்னார்ட் அவர்களின் கடின உழைப்பாலும், எளிமையான வாழ்க்கையாலும் ஈரக்கப்பட்டு ஆஸ்ஷ, காமராஜ் நகர, HVF, பட்டாபிராம் மற்றும் அம்பத்தூர் பகுதிகளை சுற்றியுள்ள மக்கள் கிறிஸ்தவ மதத்தை தழுவினர். இந்த கிராமங்களில் உள்ள பிள்ளைகள் பள்ளிக்கு செல்லாமல் இருப்பதை கண்ட அருள்தந்தை இறைமக்களின் ஆன்மீக தேவைகளை நிறைவு செய்வதோடு மட்டும் நின்றுவிடாமல், 1950 ம் ஆண்டு குழந்தைகளுக்கு தமிழ்வழிக் கல்லியை ஆரம்பித்தார்.


இறைமக்களின் ஆன்மீக தேவைகளை உணர்ந்து, 1958-ம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் மாதம் 8-ம் நாள் சென்னை மயிலை உயர் மறைமாவட்ட பேராயர் மேதகு லூயிஸ் மத்தியா ஆண்டகை அவர்களால் புதிய ஆலயத்திற்கான அடிக்கள் நாட்டப்பட்டு, ஆலய பணிகள் அனைத்தும் முடிந்து 1959-ம் ஆண்டு ஜீலை மாதம் 3-ம் நாள் சென்னை மயிலை உயர மறைமாவட்ட இணை ஆயர் மேதகு பிரான்சிஸ் கார்வாலோ அவர்களால் புனிதப்படுத்தி திறந்து வைக்கப்பட்டது. ஆவடி புனித அந்தோணியார் ஆலயமானது 2010 ஆம் ஆண்டு நவம்பர் மாதம் 21-ம் நாள் சென்னை மயிலை பேராயர் மேதகு A.M. சின்னப்பா அவர்களாவி திருத்தலமாக அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.


புனித அந்தோணியாரின் புதுமைகளால் நிரம்பி வழியும் இத்திருத்தலத்திற்கு ஆயிரக்கணக்கான மக்கள் சாதி, மதங்களை கடந்து வருவது மட்டுமல்லாமல் ஆயிரக்கணக்கான அற்புதங்களும், அதிசயங்களும் புனிதரின் பரிந்துரையால் இத்திருத்தலத்தில் நடந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறது. மேலும் பெற்ற நன்மைகளுக்கு நன்றியாக மெழுகுவர்த்தி ஏற்றுதல், மாலை அணிவித்தல், உலோகத்தினாலான உடல் உறப்புகள் காணிக்கை போன்றவை புனிதரின் அருளுக்கு சான்றாக அமைகிறது. எனவே ஆவடி புளித அந்தோணியார் திருத்தலம் வாருங்கள் நம்புங்கள், செபியுங்கள், நல்லது நடக்கும் என்பதே இத்திருத்தலம் தரும் இறையாசீர்.


இந்த ஆண்டு ஆவடி புனித அந்தோணியார் திருத்தலத்தின் 74வது ஆண்டு விழா வருகின்ற ஜூன் மாதம் 11-ம் தேதி முதல் 16-ம் தேதி வரை சிறப்பாக கொண்டாடவிருக்கின்றோம் என்பதை மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கின்றோம். இந்த ஆண்டு விழாவின் முக்கிய நிகழ்வுகள்!

Although Christianity was planted in the villages around Avadi in the early days, it did not take deep root and over time it became something that could satisfy the spiritual needs of the Christian soldiers.

In 1943, His Holiness. Inspired by John Vennard’s hard work and simple life, the people around Avadi, Kamaraj Nagar, Pattabiram and Ambattur converted to Christianity. Seeing that the children in these villages did not go to school, the Holy Father not only fulfilled the spiritual needs of the people, but also started Tamil education for the children in 1950.


Realizing the spiritual needs of the people, on 8th September 1958, the Archbishop of Chennai Mailai Archdiocese His Excellency Louis Mathias Andagai laid the foundation stone for the new church, and after all the temple works were completed, on 5th July 1959, the Co-Bishop of Chennai Mailai Archdiocese Consecrated and opened by Francis Carvalho. Avadi St. Anthony’s Church was inaugurated on November 21, 2010 It was declared a shrine by His Excellency U.A.Chinnappa.


Not only thousands of people across caste and religion come to this Thiruthalam which is overflowing with the innovations of St. Anthony but also thousands of miracles and wonders are happening in this Thiruthalam due to the intercession of the saint. Also the lighting of candles, garlands, offerings of metal body parts in gratitude for the benefits received are evidences of the saint’s grace. So come to Avadi St. Anthony Shrine.

Chennai, June 10, 2024: Domino’s, India’s largest quick-service restaurant (QSR) chain, today announced the opening of its 2000th store in the country. The brand celebrated this occasion by opening seven new stores in its seven operating regions nationwide. Domino’s Pizza India opened its first store in New Delhi in 1996, and today serves over 200mn pizzas annually through 2,000 stores spread across 421cities.


While the first 500 stores in the country took over 16 years, the last 500 have come only in 29 months reaffirming the brand’s commitment to accelerated expansion in India. Domino’s is often the first international chain to enter new cities like Sasaram, Sultanpur, Madikeri, Girdih and Baramati. The company continues to creatively expand its store presence across multi-tier cities in the form of High-street stores, mall stores, highways, colleges and airport terminals, covering a varied set of occasions in the life of customers. Domino’s has opened one new store every two-days post Covid – offering its customers great taste and value through dine-in and under 30-mins delivery. World-wide Domino’s operates more than 20,000 stores.


Over the years, the company has not only localized its Pizza offering through innovations like Paratha pizza and has customized toppings to suit the locale palate of millions of young Indians but has steadfastly delivered on its 30-minute delivery promise. Kolkata, 10th June, 2024: Sanmarg Foundation oSanmarg Foundation organised their 18th edition of Ram Awatar Gupt Utkrisht Shiksha 2024, the only award ceremony in India where students are felicitated for their excellent performance in Hindi. This award ceremony is an initiative of the Sanmarg Foundation to generate awareness amongst the youth on the importance of Hindi. The event was held at GD Birla Sabhaghar, Kolkata. This year we had a special live session by renowned celebrity astrologer and motivational speaker Jai Madaan who spoke about the journey from Education to Career and also we had a live Arjuna Puraskar competition.
 

A total of 174 students from various boards (CISCE, CBSE, International Board and W.B Board) were felicitated in this award ceremony. There were 15 toppers from classes 10 and 12 respectively of the 4 boards- CISCE, CBSE, International Board and West Bengal Board who had been selected. The award was also given to 5 Top Schools, 3 Top Teachers from different boards (CISCE, CBSE and W.B Board) and 4 College Toppers and 3 toppers with excellent extracurricular activities in Hindi. This year, we introduced 3 special categories, the Arjuna Puraskar to celebrate the achievements of our outstanding Class 11 students, the Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Puruskar for the teacher who has done something unique for Hindi language and Hindi Medium toppers to promote hindi medium schools.
 

Ram Awatar Gupt Utkrisht Shiksha reaches out to 5000 schools across Bengal and a thousand more across the country where students apply based on their school performance in Hindi, their extracurricular activities and their personal initiatives taken towards the language. Hindi teachers who are the bricks, on which this building was built, were also felicitated. Furthermore, schools were felicitated for their performance and initiatives taken by them in this language. This year too we awarded meritorious students who have faced physical disabilities, mental challenges, emotional barriers. This is categorised under Aparajay awards.

June 05, 2024: OPPO is committed to making AI available on smartphones across all price points by the end of 2024. The brand has set up an AI R&D Centre to develop proprietary technologies and is collaborating with Google, Microsoft and chipset manufacturers such as MediaTek and Qualcomm to deliver more AI features for everyday life.


In February this year, OPPO announced the establishment of the OPPO AI Centre in Shenzhen to centralise resources and support the systematic development of AI capabilities in areas such as image processing, computer vision, speech technology, natural language processing, and machine learning. OPPO has pledged not to employ user data for training models and established a robust data security and privacy protection system backed by third-party certifications, end-to-end encryption, and confidential computing technology to ensure user data remains private.


IDC's latest research report “Time to Democratise the Impact of AI Tech” reinforces the significant potential of this market. According to IDC, shipments for AI phones in the sub-US$1000 segment are expected to grow by 250% in 2024 to reach 35 million units. Generative AI will increasingly enter everyday life via phones to enhance experiences across entertainment, mobile officing, and more.

Additionally, this tool supports seamless language translation, enabling content creation in multiple languages. The AI Record Summary efficiently auto-summarises meetings, transcripts, podcasts, etc, allowing users to grasp a document's essence without extensive reading. It also highlights important information such as dates, names, and specific terms to ensure critical details are not overlooked.


OPPO is working with Microsoft to bring a more efficient, accurate and natural voice and text conversion experience with Microsoft Fast Transcription and Neural TTS technologies. With the new fast transcription feature of Azure AI Speech Service, OPPO has been able to create a smooth user experience for audio recording transcription. Additionally, OPPO’s collaboration with the Redmond-based giant will strengthen the connection between desktop AI and smartphones. Within this year, OPPO users will be able to use DESKTOP Copilot to generate content, translate text messages, and search addresses on their smartphones via a connected PC. 


OPPO is also collaborating with MediaTek to bring more innovative AI phone experiences to OPPO users. Both chipset manufacturers are developing chipsets with dedicated AI processing units (NPU) and accelerators. OPPO is working with these chipmakers to optimise AI features for its hardware and software stack; this leads to smoother performance and more efficient AI processing on its smartphones. OPPO’s collaboration extends to developing custom AI frameworks tailored to its needs; this allows the brand to leverage the chipmakers' expertise while creating unique AI features for its devices.
