June 05, 2024: OPPO is committed to making AI available on smartphones across all price points by the end of 2024. The brand has set up an AI R&D Centre to develop proprietary technologies and is collaborating with Google, Microsoft and chipset manufacturers such as MediaTek and Qualcomm to deliver more AI features for everyday life.


In February this year, OPPO announced the establishment of the OPPO AI Centre in Shenzhen to centralise resources and support the systematic development of AI capabilities in areas such as image processing, computer vision, speech technology, natural language processing, and machine learning. OPPO is working with Microsoft to bring a more efficient, accurate and natural voice and text conversion experience with Microsoft Fast Transcription and Neural TTS technologies. Kolkata, 8th May, 2024: Hemanter Aparanha, a new film by award-winning director Ashoke Viswanathan, takes audiences on a poignant journey through love, loss, and the transformative power of art. The Grand Poster launch was held today at ICCR, Kolkata which was unveiled by Sri. Goutam Ghose, Renowned Acclaimed Filmmaker and was attended by: Sri. Ashoke Viswanathan, Director; Sri. Amit Agarwal, Producer and the stellar star cast of Hemanter Aparanha. The film is a dynamic and dramatic visual exploration of the tensions of life during the Pandemic and also of the atmosphere in a world stirred and shaken by the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East.
On this occasion, Sri. Ashok Vishwanathan, Director & Producer of Hemanter Aparanha said, “The film, being shot in and around Kolkata, is set in the current COVID times and explores the behind-the-scenes of the theatre world and the struggles of artists. The plot tries to explore how people see their relationships with the happenings behind-the-scenes in films and theatres play a crucial part in the narrative. Anxiety and depression leading to suicides in recent times is also a major theme of this film. Finally, I am happy that I have collaborated with renowned film producer Amit Agarwal who is popular to bring in different types of cinema to audiences irrespective of its genre and language.”



Speaking to the media, Sri. Amit Agarwal, Producer of Hemanter Aparanha said, “Though the film deals with the agony of solitude of an elderly widower which was portrayed in few films in the past too, but this time Ashoke Viswanathan interestingly has used a play of Luigi Pirandello as a parallel backdrop and which is a new career in widower’s life that keeps him going in life amidst pandemic crisis, Ukraine war, his attraction towards a female colleague and unknown fictitious women that haunts him. I must say Ashoke Da has made a different film with multiple elements which will multiply not only his film audience but also the Bengali film audience.”


Amit has earlier backed at initial stage film ‘M. S. Dhoni- The Untold Story’ and has produced films like ‘Simran’ starring Kangana Ranaut and yet to be released ‘Raahgir’ directed by acclaimed filmmaker Goutam Ghose. With Hemanter Aparanha he seems to be in high spirits and is thrilled that he is presenting the Bengali audience yet again a different film and believes that it will be liked by the audience.



The film features a stellar cast, including Anusha Viswanathan, Rwitobroto Mukherjee, and Satyapriya Mukhopadhyay in central roles. A strong supporting cast includes Bidipta Chakraborty. The music is composed by Gourab Chatterjee with songs by Lokhichara. Cinematography is by Joydeep Bhowmick, and editing is by National Award winner Arghyakamal Mitra. The greatest challenge facing the team was to balance the narrative of the song and at the same time explore the vast ocean of interpretations that Rabindranath gives us. Director Ritwik Sinha, being the concept writer himself along with Arghya Kayal had a challenge on their hands. Their joint effort, with support and confidence from Satrajit Sen, gave them the opportunity to let their ideas flow.


The cinematography team led by Anik Chatterjee has managed to use colours, unique lighting and choreography to make sure audiences will be delighted to view each frame. Their craftmanship will allow viewers to draw parallel from the song while leaving a small intellectual vacancy, a vacancy that viewers will wonder about and fill for themselves.
